Training for Transfer

“A very relevant workshop. Every manager needs to go through this.”

“A good workshop that highlighted the basics of, or ‘secrets’ behind, effective and productive training and how everyone in the workplace can have an impact.”

“The workshop helped me see the reasons (barriers) transfer doesn’t take place and how I can have an impact on that and also share this knowledge so others (managers) can positively impact learning.”

Designing for Learning (previously named Training for Learning) - Participant Feedback

Woolworths have a long history of working with Geoff Rip. Geoff has been working with us as a consultant to most areas of the organisation delivering a range of learning programs.

Two of the key factors that have ensured Geoff has had such a long history are his personal integrity and his passion for learning. His integrity has been evidenced in all dealings with him. One such example is where when we have gone to Geoff with a request for training and he has been honest and upfront enough to tell us that he and his products were unable to meet our needs. This has meant that we have ended up with a solution that better meets our business needs and at the same time lets us know that Geoff sees us as a long term partner rather than just a company he can sell his product to and then walk away.

His passion for learning is evidenced in all the training he delivers. Geoff has delivered material to all levels of employees within our organisation and all have commented on his strong skills as a trainer and his ability to make even the driest topic interesting.

Geoff has developed a very sound understanding of our business, not just because he has been working with us for such a long time but also because he has made it his business to know our business.

I look forward to continuing our relationship with Geoff Rip long into the future, and would happily recommend him to others.

More participant feedback:

  • I really enjoyed the workshop and have gained great knowledge. The content is exceptional and immediately useful to my role.
  • Simple processes that challenged the mind enormously. Excellent, more real practical examples than any other workshop I’ve been to. Valuable tools and processes that I feel I could explore and trial for a learning and development lifetime.
  • The content was clear and easy to understand. There are heaps of examples to take away which can be used immediately (many workshops/seminars don't provide actual tools – only the theory).
  • This has been one of the very few workshops that I have left feeling that application (back at work) was built into the workshop and is not going to be a barrier. The days have absolutely flown.
  • A breath of fresh air.
  • A great paradigm shift that is practical.
  • Fabulous. Fantastic. Inspiring. Exciting.
  • Very valuable – in its delivery and its content.
  • Best train-the-trainer I've been on. I learnt a lot, thank you.
  • Excellent! Definitely the best days I’ve had in a course/workshop.
  • Excellent, more real practical examples than any other workshop I've been to.
  • Excellent. Hit the mark to have a new (pragmatic) way to gain ROI on training.
  • Great job… all very worthwhile and useful information. Generally – changed my whole outlook on training.
  • I feel the workshop is one of the most useful I’ve been on. Overall, a really valuable and enjoyable workshop.
  • The frameworks presented have given me the capability to re-think and re-work existing training courses and coaching methods.
  • The way the content and process was integrated throughout was great. I've been to courses before where they lectured on the best learning methods!
  • I have learnt an awful lot … and am very glad I attended. I think this course is well worth the three days and would certainly recommend it to others.
  • I have very much enjoyed this workshop and am grateful for these powerful but simple tools to 'make a difference'. I look forward to implementing/applying.
  • It has definitely increased my understanding (vision) of the way I need to encourage culture change in our organisation, including that part of culture relating to learning.
  • Enjoyed the content of the workshop and it was presented in a fun and effective manner. It certainly introduced me to new techniques and methods to help others learn, and to help my own learning.
  • A very interesting workshop, different from anything I have experienced before. The belief in the strategies that the facilitators show, rubs off onto the participants… seeing it in action deepened my understanding.
  • For the first time I really understand the current terminology of “the learning organisation” and training for learning. I will be able to apply much of what I’ve gained, to help others and myself in helping people to get the best from training/learning experiences. Thanks.
  • Has made me question the delivery of training developed in my organisation and its current value. Your style of delivery obviously utilised this approach as I feel I will walk away having learnt a great deal. It has been an interesting and fun three days. Definitely worth the time invested.
