Overview of Course

Our success as leaders is strongly influenced by the commitment of our team members and their ability to work towards a common vision.
This one day workshop is designed to assist managers and team leaders to develop a cohesive and high performance team by understanding team functioning and implementing essential team processes.

Learning Outcomes

1. Differentiate between a workgroup and work team
2. Identify the seven critical elements in a high performance team
3. Establish a purpose statement, SMART goals and an assessment of the strengths, limitations, and opportunities within the team
4. Identify the current stage of development of the team and appropriate leadership interventions
5. Establish a team charter including specific behaviour ground rules in areas of communication, conflict, decision making, role conflict and team meetings
6. Identify individual role preferences within the team and strategies to capitalise on these preferences (BelbinTM Team Role Preference instrument)
